Success with USTA Serves Highlighted in Colorado Tennis!
If you haven't heard the news, USTA Serves, our newest program, established through the help of USTA Colorado and their generous grant to our facility, is off to a roaring start.
The STA, in partnership with from Partners Mentoring Youth, The Boys and Girls Club, ACE Club at Soda Creek, and staff from the Tennis Center applied and were selected as satellite partners of the USTA Colorado Serves program for 2018.
USTA Serves (Success. Education. Respect. Values. Experience. Self-Confidence) is a program through which children from all walks of life are introduced into the sport of tennis. But not only that, kids enrolled in the program are also learning valuable life skills on the court, which each session being a balance of team building, communication skills, perseverance, decision making, goal setting, integrity, self-esteem and building friendships.
The STA just completed its first session of the the USTA Serves program at the end of April. Serves instruction was held on Sunday afternoons from March 25th-April 29th with an enrollment of 41 children, many of whom had never held a racquet before. Three more six-week sessions are planned for May-June, July-August and September-October.
